DESCRIPTION:The Hybrid Introduction to Bladesmithing course at the Bill Moran School of Bladesmithing combines both online and in-person instruction. Built on the curriculum developed by Bill Moran—renowned as the father of modern Damascus steel and founder of the first bladesmithing school—this course offers a blend of lecture and hands-on experience. \n\n\n\nDesigned for individuals interested in crafting high-quality\, hand-forged blades\, the course covers essential topics such as metal selection\, blade function\, and design variations. Students will learn techniques including hammer forging\, annealing\, heat treating\, grinding\, and tempering. \n\n\n\n**Please keep in mind that the online portion of this class must be completed before the first day of in-person instruction.** \n\n\n\nPlease follow the link to register! In the event of cancellation\, students will receive a full refund\, and we will notify them promptly to allow for adjustments to any travel or lodging plans\, including hotel reservations if applicable.For hybrid students\, refunds will be issued for the in-person portion of the class only. The cost of online access is non-refundable\, as these materials remain available to you indefinitely.If a student decides to withdraw from the course\, refund or transfer requests received at least 21 business days prior to the first class meeting will be eligible for a 100% refund.Requests received after the 21-day deadline are not guaranteed a refund.
