DESCRIPTION:**Classes will meet Wednesday & Friday evenings from 5pm-9pm** \n\n\n\nCertified Nurse Aide – Skills & Clinical Training (HHS-Approved) \n\n\n\nThis course is designed for individuals seeking to complete the skills and clinical components of the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training program\, as required by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). It is ideal for students who have already completed the required theory portion or HHSC’s 60-hour online training and now need hands-on experience to qualify for the state certification exam. \n\n\n\nCourse Overview: \n\n\n\n\nSkills Training check off: in-person instruction focused on essential nurse aide skills such as personal care\, basic nursing procedures\, infection control\, safety and emergency protocols\, and communication techniques.\n\n\n\nClinical Experience: 44 hours of supervised clinical practice in a long-term care facility\, providing direct patient care under the guidance of licensed professionals.\n\n\n\n\nProgram Highlights: \n\n\n\n\nFulfills HHSC requirements for NATCEP (Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program)\n\n\n\nPrepares students for the Texas CNA certification exam\n\n\n\nIncludes skill validation and real-world clinical experience\n\n\n\nMust complete HHSC’s free 60-hour Computer-Based Training prior to enrollment\n\n\n\n\nRequirements: \n\n\n\n\nMust be 18 years or older\n\n\n\nValid government-issued ID and Social Security card\n\n\n\nProof of immunizations (MMR\, Varicella\, Hepatitis B\, TB test\, Influenza\, Tdap)\n\n\n\nBackground check and drug screening\n\n\n\nCPR certification for healthcare providers\n\n\n\n\nOutcome: Upon successful completion\, students will be eligible to sit for the Texas CNA certification exam and pursue employment in long-term care facilities\, hospitals\, or home health agencies.
