Uke 102: Barrels of Carols

UKE 102: Christmas Carols & Beyond
Continue your ukulele journey with this festive and fun follow-up to UKE 101 – From Zero to Hero! This 2.5-hour intermediate class is based on Bogart and Peters’ 21 Easy Songs for Christmas and is perfect for students who already know the basics and are ready to expand their skills.

In this joyful session, you’ll learn:

  • New chords and strumming patterns
  • Percussive techniques to add rhythm and flair
  • A barrel-full of Christmas carols to play and sing

Bring your uke, your UKE 101 binder, a tuner, and your holiday spirit! Snacks and a light lunch are provided to keep the energy up while we strum along.

Uke 104: Chord Melody for Ukulele

Love playing the ukulele but prefer picking out the melody instead of singing along? In this fun and engaging class, you’ll build on the skills from Uke 101 and Uke 102 to create beautiful, full arrangements that combine melody and chords—all played at the same time!

You’ll learn to:

  • Read tablature for both melody and chords
  • Use standard notation to keep perfect timing
  • Impress your friends with your musical skills!

No stress—just bring:

  • Yourself
  • Your ukulele
  • Your binder from Uke 101 & 102
  • A tuner

Snacks and a light lunch are provided, so come hungry for music and food!

UKE 112-Cowboy/Campfire Tunes

Is there anything better than sitting around a glowing campfire beneath a deep blue canopy of stars strumming cowboy/campfire songs on your uke?  If you are 10 or older and have completed Uke 101 (or have a good working knowledge of several chords), come join us for 1 ½ hours around the fire!  I guarantee, armed with these great old songs, your next camping trip will be epic! Just bring yourself, your uke, and a tuner.  Copies of PowerPoint slides, our class songbook, and other handouts will be provided, and as always—SNACKS!  Any questions:  Catherine.howard@texarkanacollege.edu

Pediatric/Adult First Aid & CPR Renewal (Skills Only)

This course is available for those who have taken a first aid CPR course before and the on line Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid & CPR with American Heart Association or Heartsaver First Aid & CPR.  Students must go to https://elearning.heart.org.
