Power Up-Get Fit Quick-Evening

Community Music School: May – 60 minutes with Shelly

In the Texarkana College Community Music School, professional teachers from the community offer the highest level of instruction to students of all ages. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to perform in recitals. Lessons are given each week. Tuition is due before your first class of the month.

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) is designed to offer an overview of artificial intelligence for individuals without prior expertise in the subject. This course provides a foundational introduction to the key concepts of AI, including machine learning and deep learning, and their broad applications across different industries.
Participants will engage with lectures, case studies, and interactive demonstrations to examine the ethical, economic, and societal implications of AI technologies. By the end of the two-night course, learners will have gained insights into AI’s capabilities and challenges, equipping them with the knowledge to participate in informed discussions about AI’s impact on the future.
Learning Objectives:
LO1: Learners will gain knowledge of artificial intelligence’s core principles, focusing on machine learning and deep learning.
LO2: Learners will recognize and understand the diverse applications of AI across various sectors.
LO3: Learners will evaluate the benefits of AI deployment, including increased efficiency, enhanced decision-making, and innovation.
LO4: Learners will explore the challenges and limitations associated with AI, such as ethical dilemmas, privacy concerns, and potential biases.
Pre-requisite(s): Participants need to be proficient enough to log into a computer and navigate the internet. A sense of humor is recommended, especially when considering the dynamic between learning about AI and having AI learn for you!

Junior Bladesmith

This course Is designed to give our younger Bladesmithing enthusiast an opportunity to try some hands-on forging. Forging to shape, grinding and heat-treating techniques will all be covered in this three-day discovery course.

Cookies and Cupcake Decorating

What Icing do I need for cookies? What is the best recipe for decorated cookies? What about cupcakes, I want them elegant yet simple? All of these are questions we will ask, explore and hopefully answer each of them and more. The first night we will discuss the 2 most common types of icing, and I’ll make a batch of my favorite one and share the recipe for that and my favorite cookie recipe (actually it’s a tip of any sugar cookie recipe) with all of you. The next 3 nights we will be learning a few decorating techniques and decorating cookies and cupcakes, get ready to do some baking!

This class will on Thursday evenings from 6-8pm for 4 weeks!
