Program Details

Tuition & Fees
- Program Cost: $700 (includes textbooks)
- Payment Plan Available: Online four-month payment plan (credit/debit card required with 25% down payment of $175.00 plus $30 enrollment fee)
- Deadline to register or drop class: Friday, January 23, 2026 by 3pm.
Financial Assistance
This course is a short-term, non-credit program and therefore is not eligible for FAFSA (Federal Student Aid). However, we do offer the four-month payment plan listed above and a non-traditional scholarship for $175 toward your tuition balance. Course Description
The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) course prepares entry level nursing assistants to achieve a level of knowledge, skills and abilities essential to provide basic care to patients and/or residents of hospitals, assisted living and long-term care facilities.
To ensure compliance with Texarkana College, student must submit a copy of their High School Diploma or GED equivalent to the CBE office upon enrollment or within the first week of class. This documentation is essential for completing the registration process.
Clinical Externship
- Clock Hours: 44 hands-on clinical hours
- Supervision: Conducted under licensed healthcare professionals in real-world care facilities like nursing homes or hospitals.
- Goal: Practice essential nurse aide skills — personal care, infection control, safety, communication, and documentation — in real-time settings.
Certification Preparation
- Texas State Exam: Course readies students for the CNA certification test.
- Skill mastery: Clinical hours ensure students meet the practical requirements for state competency

Community Education Refund Policy
Students who wish to drop this course may receive a 100% refund of tuition upon request on or before the drop date listed above (refund excludes $30 payment plan enrollment fee).
Criminal Background Check
For students who may have a criminal background, please be advised that the background could deny you from being licensed by the State of Texas. If you have a question about your background and licensure, please check with the Texas Nurse Aide Registry by calling 1-512-438-2050 or certification board for your topic of study to determine if you are qualified to obtain a certificate in that field. You also have the right to request a criminal history evaluation letter from the applicable licensing agency.
