This comprehensive program will prepare students to work as a pharmacy technician in retail or other pharmacy settings and will take the ExCPT exam through National Healthcareer Association.
Through classroom lecture and hands-on labs, students will review dosage calculations, drug classifications, the “top 200 drugs”, I.V. flow rates, sterile compounding, dose conversions, aseptic technique, the handling of sterile products, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control, and billing and reimbursement.
To ensure compliance with Texarkana College, students must submit a copy of their High School Diploma or GED equivalent to the CBE office upon enrollment or within the first week of class. This documentation is essential for completing the registration process.

Online registration is not available. Therefore, it is required to register/enroll in person at the Community and Business Education Center located in the Nelson Administration Building on TC Campus. For questions regarding enrollment, please call 903-823-3382.
CBE Refund Policy:
Students who wish to drop this course may receive a 100% refund of tuition upon request on or before the drop date listed above (refund excludes $30 payment plan enrollment fee).
Criminal Background Check:
For students who may have a criminal background, please be advised that the background could keep you from being licensed by the State of Texas. If you have a question about your background and licensure, please check with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board by accessing their website at https://ptcb.zendesk.com and submit a request on your topic of study to determine if you are qualified to obtain a certificate in that field. You also have the right to request a criminal history evaluation letter from the applicable licensing agency.
