Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) is designed to offer an overview of artificial intelligence for individuals without prior expertise in the subject. This course provides a foundational introduction to the key concepts of AI, including machine learning and deep learning, and their broad applications across different industries.
Participants will engage with lectures, case studies, and interactive demonstrations to examine the ethical, economic, and societal implications of AI technologies. By the end of the two-night course, learners will have gained insights into AI’s capabilities and challenges, equipping them with the knowledge to participate in informed discussions about AI’s impact on the future.
Learning Objectives:
LO1: Learners will gain knowledge of artificial intelligence’s core principles, focusing on machine learning and deep learning.
LO2: Learners will recognize and understand the diverse applications of AI across various sectors.
LO3: Learners will evaluate the benefits of AI deployment, including increased efficiency, enhanced decision-making, and innovation.
LO4: Learners will explore the challenges and limitations associated with AI, such as ethical dilemmas, privacy concerns, and potential biases.
Pre-requisite(s): Participants need to be proficient enough to log into a computer and navigate the internet. A sense of humor is recommended, especially when considering the dynamic between learning about AI and having AI learn for you!
