Spring Paint Class – April 14th, 2026

Join us for a fun and creative paint class where you’ll design your very own spring‑themed door hanger! This workshop is perfect for all skill levels—whether you’re a confident creator or brand‑new to painting.

Participants will follow Lisa’s lead step‑by‑step as she guides you through painting techniques, color choices, and finishing touches to help you create your own spring masterpiece.

All  supplies will be provided. Come relax, get creative, and leave with a beautiful, custom door hanger ready to brighten your home for spring!

Oil Painting Course Overview

Instructor: Dr. Angela Melde

This course welcomes students of all experience levels—from complete beginners to those with prior oil painting practice. Through guided instruction, students will explore a variety of paint application techniques and color mixing theories, building a strong foundation for creating expressive and high-quality artwork.

Participants will receive hands-on training in multiple genres, including landscapes, portraits, and still life. Class exercises are designed to encourage creativity and experimentation, helping each student discover and develop their unique artistic direction and personal style.

Please see the supply list below for required materials. Oil painting kits are available for purchase at the TC Bookstore for $188. The bookstore is located in the Truman Arnold Student Center on campus and operates during the following hours:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7:45 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 7:45 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: Closed

This course is designed for students who have any type of experience or no experience with oil painting.  Students will learn various paint application techniques and color mixing theories to provide a strong foundation for creating quality works of art.  This course offers instruction in a variety of genres including landscapes, portraits, and still life.  In addition, class exercises encourage students to confidently experiment to find their one direction and style.
