Creative Sewing Workshop:

This course is intended for individuals with previous sewing experience. Ideally, participants should have taken sewing lessons prior to enrolling, as the class builds on foundational skills. Basic Sewing (Summer 2026)🧵

Tuesdays; June 9th – July 7th from 6-8pm (5 weeks)

Discover the basics of sewing in this beginner-friendly course! Using your own full-size portable sewing machine, you’ll learn essential sewing techniques along with basic machine care and maintenance.

For the first class, please bring your sewing machine, scissors, thread, a small piece of test fabric, paper, and a pencil. During the first session, you’ll get familiar with your machine, review a list of recommended patterns, and receive your supply list to prepare for your project before the second class.

Oil Painting

**Class will be held on Thursday nights from Jan 21 – Mar 12 from 5-7pm**

Instructor: Dr. Angela Melde

This course welcomes students of all experience levels—from complete beginners to those with prior oil painting practice. Through guided instruction, students will explore a variety of paint application techniques and color mixing theories, building a strong foundation for creating expressive and high-quality artwork.

Participants will receive hands-on training in multiple genres, including landscapes, portraits, and still life. Class exercises are designed to encourage creativity and experimentation, helping each student discover and develop their unique artistic direction and personal style.

Please see the supply list below for required materials. Oil painting kits are available for purchase at the TC Bookstore or you can purchase items on Amazon. The bookstore is located in the Truman Arnold Student Center on campus and operates during the following hours:

Graham Slam Festive Cookie Decorating – February

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll decorate six pre-baked cookies while learning the basics of working with royal icing — including outlining, flooding, and adding those perfect finishing touches.
