Armed with the basic chords from Uke 101, in this one hour course we will learn the history and unusual facts about several traditional American songs while learning to play them!! Copies of PowerPoint slides, our class songbook, and other handouts will be provided to add to you binders, and, as always, snacks! Just bring yourself, your uke, and a tuner.

This 2.5-hour course picks up where UKE 101-From zero to hero leaves off and is based on Bogart and Peters’ 21 Easy Songs for Christmas. Students will learn additional chords, strumming patterns, and percussive techniques. You will learn loads of new songs, literally, barrels of Christmas carols. Not many ways to have much more fun than this! It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got four strings. Just bring yourself, your uke, your binder from Uke 101, and a tuner. This class, adapted from Bogart and Peters’ 21 Songs in 6 Days: Learn Ukulele the Easy Way, will take novice students through the history and anatomy of the ukulele and includes how to buy a uke, holding, strumming, tuning, singing along, and chords C, Am, F, G7, C7. You will have all the tools to play dozens of songs after this two and 1/2 hour session! Playing the ukulele is easy, fun, and addictive! This class is appropriate for age levels 10-100 and is guaranteed to make you smile! You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy a ukulele. That’s pretty close! Let’s Talk About Kids is being conducted to provide information to families and children who are affected by divorce. The seminar is open to all persons concerned with family separation. Attendance is mandated for divorcing parents by the Bowie County District Courts.
