Creative Sewing Workshop:

This course is intended for individuals with previous sewing experience. Ideally, participants should have taken sewing lessons prior to enrolling, as the class builds on foundational skills. If you’re new at sewing, we recommend starting with our Basic Sewing class at: https://cbe.texarkanacollege.edu/register/basic-sewing-13/.

Ready to take your sewing skills to the next level? Join us for a fun and inspiring hands-on class designed for those with basic sewing experience. In this workshop, you’ll learn to create a variety of practical and stylish items—including fabric bags, storage baskets, and decorative rope bowls.

Basic Sewing (Summer 2026)🧵

Tuesdays; June 9th – July 7th from 6-8pm (5 weeks)

Discover the basics of sewing in this beginner-friendly course! Using your own full-size portable sewing machine, you’ll learn essential sewing techniques along with basic machine care and maintenance.

For the first class, please bring your sewing machine, scissors, thread, a small piece of test fabric, paper, and a pencil. During the first session, you’ll get familiar with your machine, review a list of recommended patterns, and receive your supply list to prepare for your project before the second class.

In this class, we’ll build on the basics of sewing while creating fun, practical projects! Students will make pajama bottoms, envelope‑style pillow covers, snack mats, and zipper pouches.

A basic understanding of sewing is required, along with access to a full‑size sewing machine.Texarkana College also has two sewing machines available to borrow if needed—just let us know ahead of time!

Come ready to learn new skills, practice your techniques, and complete projects you’ll love using or gifting!.
